PETALING JAYA: Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has been discharged, says the National Heart Institute (IJN).

PETALING JAYA: Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has been discharged, says the National Heart Institute ."Tun Dr Mahathir was recently admitted and received medical treatment during his stay at IJN."He will be having his follow-up for continuation of his medical treatment as and when required in the future.

"Tun Dr Mahathir and Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali would like to express their thanks to everyone for their concern and doa when Tun Dr Mahathir was admitted to the National Heart Institute," said the statement. Dr Mahathir was previously admitted to IJN for an elective procedure on Jan 7 and was discharged on Jan 13. He was readmitted for follow-up treatment on Jan 20.

A video posted on Dr Mahathir’s blog shows him thanking all those who have prayed for him and sent him well wishes and flowers.The 96-year-old, who can be seen walking slowly into his house, says he has been going home every day from morning to evening but returns to the hospital later.His daughter Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir had previously issued several statements saying her father was in stable condition.
