Dr Adham: More highly skilled workers needed to improve Malaysia’s competitiveness

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 10 — At least 45 per cent of the nation’s total workforce need to be highly skilled workers to enable Malaysia to compete with the world’s leading countries, said Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba.

“Therefore, it is important for technologists, technicians, scientists, and researchers to be key players in the development of expertise to improve skills, productivity and the country’s competitiveness through science and technology,” he said. Dr Adham also expressed his ministry’s commitment to ensure that the fields of science, technology and innovation would continue to contribute to the people’s socio-economic well-being.
