NSTnation: “After I settle this patient! You can wait or not? If you cannot wait get out!” the doctor was heard saying. Rasah NegeriSembilan

KUALA LUMPUR: A video clip has gone viral in which a government doctor attached with a health clinic in Rasah , Negri Sembilan lost his cool and shouted at a patient.

“After I settle this patient! You can wait or not? If you cannot wait get out!” the doctor was heard saying to the duo as one of them recorded the confrontation.”Yeah you made a mistake, how long you want me to wait? No I cannot wait,” one of the duo retorted.

The person recording then weighed in by asking the doctor, ”So you are a government doctor is it? Come show me your face? You are a government doctor? Today you will go viral,” said the patient.“Yes. Just do it, do whatever you want,” the doctor replied.

The patient has since kept to her word of uploading the video and even wrote an explanation as to what she alleged had taken place. In the Facebook post, the woman who shared the footage said she had cough and flu, and went to the clinic at 7.10pm, was made to through the normal procedure afterwhich she headed to the consultation room.

“After waiting for about 15 minutes, the doctor called my number. I went in and was told that I was having cough and flu. At first, he didn't even take the initiative to come forward to check my breathing with his stethoscope. So he told me he'd give me cough medicine.

"Then at the pharmacy counter, they called my number and gave me flu and diarrhea medication."So I told the pharmacist that I didn't have diarrhea, I had cough. So she told me, the doctor didn't prescribe that medicine in the system. Then she told me to go see the doctor again. So I went to meet him again and asked him.

“He replied 'go tell her la'. So I went to tell the pharmacist again, so she told me to wait. Fine, I waited for about another 15 minutes. After that, the pharmacist called my name again and told me to meet the doctor again and ask him to update the prescription in the system.

“So, me and my dad went in. My dad asked him why couldn't he prescribe proper medication, and he shouted. This is the proof of how he shouted at the patient just for asking for the right medicine,” wrote the patient. The video clip has since gone viral and attracted all sorts of responses from netizens.

One netizen, Grace Cassilda Cindy Terry, wrote a response to the video on Facebook which read, “ Please fine the person who has viralled this #KKM (Health Ministry), I support that doctor. If the one taking this video cannot wait for his or her turn, then just go. No need to take video. This doctor is just doing his job,” she wrote.

Another netizen known as Tyne Mint wrote, “Yeah... the person recording is the one at fault. Not the doctor. You cannot just run into the room and demand service. They can sue you for trespassing. Like literally, your filming will be used against you.”

Sherlock Goh on the other hand questioned the patient for not revealing her face.“The doctor dares to be recorded and show his face. The one who is recording, you don’t show your face?”Aaron Chung wrote and suggested that if one cannot wait then one should seek medical consultation at a private clinic or hospital.

“Government clinics are inexpensive. If something is cheap then it is understood that you will have to wait. If you want fast service, then go to a private clinic then. Overall, I respect this doctor. He became more stressed because of the one recording the video. Drop a like on this comment if you agree.”

While many supported the doctor, there were also netizens who backed the patient.Meanwhile, Negri Sembilan Health Department in its response on Facebook said an initial investigation has been conducted over the incident and the matter has been settled amicably between both parties.

"Negri Sembilan Health Department urges the public not to speculate against any party involved in the incident and to seek for an official statement from the department or Health Ministry."Any complaints with regards to services provided should be forwarded through the official channel provided.

"Please be reminded that taking photographs or recording videos at health facilities without permission are prohibited."The prohibition must be adhered to by everyone to ensure safety and privacy of other patients who are seeking treatments at the health facilities."

The department added that it welcomed suggestions from the public on ways to improve its services.

Don't think the doctor was being rude, the public are sometimes so demanding. Doctors have work to do, and may not want to be disturbed If you choose not to be patience, please have your minimum insurance protection. Go to private hospital/clinic instead. Less crowded. Give the opportunity to those who less fortunate to be in the G Hospital.

4. Msians shld learn to also stop the habit of viralling videos when u r dissatisfied abt smthing. There's a proper channel to lodge complaints. 5. Msians shld b thankful u can walk in to any clinics/hosp as u like. Here in UK(even elsewhere)u hv 2 make appointments to do so! 1. Taking video/photos in hospital is wrong. She should be charged. 2. Drs r human too. Not evryone can take up tight timing with 50 patients in 5 hours to keep smiling to u even if u r nasty. Can u? 3. Simple prob cld hv bn solved if ppl learn to b courteous n patient.

This is a disgrace. The woman should be fined for making this video. Why is it nowadays everyone resorts to making videos of their confrontations? My sympathy is with this overworked and underpaid doctor. Although his tone has slightly gone abit too high, but he is not wrong to ask them out as he was seeing other patient at that time. This couple show no respect to the doctor and the patient. They can make official complaint to KKM, but not by taking video.

So? Are we supposed to publicly judge him?..and then what? To the lady who boldly viral this doctor, you donno what kind of day the doctor has gone thru, the stress and all. He was attending another patient, and i for one would not like my turn to be interrupted. You shld hv been more considerate and compassionate. salutedoctors

the pariah lady is the problem I'm with the doctor. 💪 I’m with the doctor. KKMPutrajaya should take action against the person taking that video and being disrespectful to the doctor.

Support the doctor. Adui. Dia ingat dia satu urang ka patient? 😑 Woww...don play play. The POWER of social media. The POWER of the People. Looks like now days anytime when The RAKYAT is offended by 'someone' or 'some people' there is a Video Clip that will be viraled thruout the Nation and International as well.

Pay cheap then expect to be treated like a king. Bloody ignorant la that patient 😑 30 years working days and nights, and all gone to dust just because of 1 patient. He looked stress and overworked. Hope he'll get a few days off Among the many cons of social media... Your whole life gets judged over 30 seconds of your reaction in front of the camera.

pariah doctor. if u hv been to government hospitals u will know. Some of us are just allergic to nasty people... Pity the government doctor... gaji bukan tinggi.. have to see 50 patients that day and have to layan some entitled person barging in while the doctor is attending to another patient... Who ever is right, the doctor should have keep his 'cool' and not have shouted at his patient. If you cannot behave like one then DON'T be one. You have tarnish the Min of Health reputation. Doctor are taught to calm the sick and not the other way round. Your shirt looked tight..

Doctor returns to work right after recovering from coronavirusCORONAVIRUS | Feeling guilty while resting during illness prompts doc to give online consultation to patients. Oh my gosh, talk abt commitment. 👍👍 Respect and admiration! But these sentiments cannot in anyway be enough to thank the dedication and commitment of the medical and health workers to the call of duty. They gave their all. Just pause for a moment to think what would happen without them (Malaysians included!)

I heard a girl shouted 'stupid' to the doctor. What kind of person is that? I really love my KK Botanic Klang from the counter till the pharmacist all in good services. It just take about 30-45 min sometimes if u go after work around 6-7pm just take about 15 min till u got the medicine KKMPutrajaya DrDzul

'Shouting doc' case resolved through negotiations – health deptThe Seremban Health Department launches a probe after a video of the incident goes viral. Its not a matter of negotiation..Its about public medical services practices which has had some shortcoming certain qualities n standards over the years, overlooked by both complacement provider n recipient..System to measure standards by immediate feedback..as auditing standards Pesakit kena sabar skit. Klau tak pergi je klinik swasta. Of you only paid rm1 for the service don't expect 5 star hotel treatment. To humiliate the doc to get what you want is wrong.
