Mahsa University project marketing manager Mohamed Kassim Jafarullah said students interested in its Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery programme will get a RM700 discount for the RM2,600 registration and processing fees.“And within a week, we’ll schedule an interview for the student,” he said, adding that students accepted into the programme would also be entitled to a further discount of about RM40,000 off their total fees.
So instead of RM369,900 for the five-year programme, students will only pay a total of RM330,000, he said.Mohamed Kassim said there was a huge demand for physiotherapists, especially with a growing aging population. Mahsa, he said, was the only varsity in the country offering a Master of Physiotherapy programme.“There’s growing awareness among the public on the benefits of physiotherapy.
“In some cases, surgery can be avoided with physiotherapy and people are exploring that option,” he said, adding that physiotherapists have good earning potential as client house visits are proving to be very popular.The college’s marketing and student enrolment head Barbara Er said the scholarship was for the foundation in science course.
“However, the RM16,000 scholarship will be paid out in two stages – RM8,000 will be for the foundation tuition fee, and the balance will go to the first semester of the degree programme,” she said.
