KOTA KINABALU: The government has been urged to find ways to deport foreigners in Sabah, instead of issuing them with special passes, says opposition Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS).

said Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s announcement on the issuance of the renewable Sabah Temporary Pass to some 600,000 foreign nationals in the state was of concern to Sabahans.

“There is a possibility of foreign nationals outnumbering locals, and this will eventually put us at a disadvantage, ” he said in a statement here on Monday .He said issuing the PSS would not only lead them to multiplying in numbers, but also encourage more foreigners to enter Sabah illegally. Bangkuai said all foreign nationals without any travel documents who genuinely wish to return and earn a living in Sabah can re-enter the state with proper and valid travel documents issued by their country of origin.

It must also be noted with concern and fear that just a few days ago, the Philippines’ Foreign Secretary has blatantly declared that Sabah belongs to the Philippines, Bangkuai said.
