KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 237,703 adults in the country received their Covid-19 booster shot on Monday (Jan 17), bringing the cumulative number of booster doses administered to 9,609,454 or 41% of the eligible population as at 11.59pm.

According to the Health Ministry's CovidNow portal, 22,906,072 or 97.8% of the adult population were fully vaccinated while 23,185,749 or 99% had received at least one dose of vaccine.

For adolescents in the 12 to 17 age group, 2,775,059 or 88.2% completed their vaccination while 2,862,198 or 91% had received at least one dose. Daily statistics showed that 242,705 doses of vaccine were administered on Monday, including 1,912 first doses and 3,090 second doses. This took the cumulative number of vaccine doses administered under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme to 61,135,763.

According to the ministry's GitHub portal, 16 Covid-19 deaths were reported on Monday with Selangor recording the most , followed by Terengganu , Negri Sembilan and Penang . – Bernama
