The Health Ministry said there were another 2,246 Covid-19 infections as of 11.59pm on Monday (May 9). Some 2,433 patients also recovered from the disease. Read more at

The Health Ministry said through data released on its CovidNow portal on Tuesday that this brings the new total to 4,461,135 cases since the pandemic began.The CovidNow portal also said that there were 2,433 recoveries on Monday, bringing the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 22,368.

Of the active cases, 94.9% or 21,230 individuals are undergoing home quarantine, while 4 people are being treated at low-risk quarantine and treatment centres . Only 4.8% of active cases or 1,065 individuals needed to be hospitalised, with 69 warded in intensive care units throughout the country.
