PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 2,007 new Covid-19 infections on Saturday (Oct 1), says the Health Ministry.

The Health Ministry said through data released on its CovidNow portal on Sunday that this brings the new total to 4,840,879 cases since the pandemic began.The ministry also said through its CovidNow portal that there were 1,407 recoveries on Saturday, bringing the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 25,769.

Of the active cases, 95.9% or 24,713 individuals are undergoing home quarantine, while 3.9% of active cases or 1,014 individuals need to be hospitalised, with 42 warded in intensive care units throughout the country.
