KUCHING: Two Sarawak ministers are in self-quarantine for 14 days after coming into contact with a person who tested positive for Covid-19, says Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah.

He said his fellow Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah had attended a meeting with a participant from Kota Samarahan who was later confirmed to have the virus.Uggah said Awang Tengah was not a confirmed case and had not shown any symptoms, adding that he was in quarantine as a precautionary measure.

"The rule is, if you happen to have close or casual contact in a meeting with a positive person, all those people in the meeting will be required to be quarantined.Meanwhile, Awang Tengah's office said in a brief statement that he had not tested positive for Covid-19.
