putrajaya Kerajaan tidak menerima makluman mengenai dakwaan sukarelawan Universiti Malaya (UM) dikehendaki mengendalikan penuntut China yang kembali meneruskan pengajian pada semester baharu di universiti itu.

Timbalan Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail berkata, Kementerian Pendidikan akan menyusuli perkara itu untuk sebarang tindakan lanjut.

“Pihak universiti mesti mengambil tanggungjawab untuk beri perlindungan kepada sesiapa sahaja, sukarelawan mahupun staf,” katanya pada sidang media mengenai perkembangan terkini jangkitan wabak koronavirus 2019 di Putrajaya, hari ini. Beliau memberi reaksi itu sebagai merujuk kepada laporan sebuah akhbar tempatan mengenai sukarelawan UM yang dikatakan diminta menguruskan penuntut China di Kolej Kediaman 10 universiti itu.

Laporan itu menyebut, sejumlah 550 penuntut dari China yang pulang ke kampus itu mendaftar pada 5 Februari lalu dan sukarelawan tidak diberi latihan khusus bagi mengendalikan penuntut China, terutamanya selepas isu Covid-19.
