PETALING JAYA: A record number of 592 Covid-19 deaths were recorded on Saturday (Sept 11), bringing the total number of fatalities to 20,419.

Of the 592, 88 deaths were classified as"Brought in Dead " and of the 20,419 cumulative Covid-19 deaths, 3,676 were classified as BID.The previous high in the number of deaths was 393 on Aug 26, while the highest BID figure was on Sept 5 at 107.

On Tuesday, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin had explained that the deaths announced each day did not occur within the last 24 hours. He explained that there was a big delay in reporting deaths as health authorities needed to confirm whether the fatalities were caused by Covid-19.While the figures had previously been included in the Ministry's daily Covid-19 statement, the ministry in its statement yesterday said that data on deaths, active cases and several other matters would be uploaded to its Github online repository page as well as the CovidNow website.

Even it’s a backlog. A death is a death. Every single life count. The way data is presented clearly manipulated. It’s show our health care system is failed. kerajaangagal2.0

I mean he can say that “deaths didn’t occur in last 24 hours.” But that doesn’t mean much. These deaths happened. Full stop.

Covidnow said actual death is 100. So 492 is from backlog cases? Very confused

Here in Malaysia both Khairykj and DGHisham are behaving like they are celebrating victory. A carefree attitude by the people is derived from a lackadaisical attitude by this Govt. In 2 weeks ... Mark my words. The cases will breach 30,000

Why this change in reporting?
