PETALING JAYA: The country recorded 12,456 new recoveries on Thursday (Oct 14), extending the trend of recoveries exceeding new infections.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, in his daily statement, said that 1.6% of the recorded 8,084 new infections were from categories three, four and five cases.

Putrajaya and Negri Sembilan meanwhile recorded a rate of infectivity of 1.07 and 1.03 respectively. The country's R0 value is currently at 0.88. "With the country moving towards the endemic phase, the Health Ministry is currently improving the level of Covid-19 Clinical Assessment Centres . The upgrades will encompass several new functions, which will be implemented in stages," he said.
