PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 5,020 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday (Dec 8), says the Health Ministry.

Health director-general Tan Sri Noor Hisham Abdullah said, in a tweet, that this brought the cumulative number of cases in Malaysia to 2,673,019 since the pandemic began.

He added that more detailed information such as hospitalisations and ICU usage would be uploaded to the Health Ministry's CovidNow portal at midnight. According to the Ministry's Github data repository, this is the first time in four days that daily cases have gone above the 5,000 mark.
