PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia is still not out of the woods in its Covid-19 battle, said Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin on Monday as he reminded the public to continue adhering to the standard operating procedures set by the authorities.
Malaysia's new Covid-19 cases dipped below 5,000 on Sunday and on Monday 4,885 new cases were recorded. Khairy reminded those who had already received their appointments for a booster shot to go for it especially those above 40 years old and individuals with comorbidities.
Herd immunity is no longer a target. Endemicity is also no longer a target. Monitoring new cases is supposedly meaningless. So what are we shooting for now? What’s the new KPI? Dear leaders of Malaysia, please tell us so that we can better support and help each other.
We will be in the woods for many years to come.
