PETALING JAYA: The Housing and Local Government Ministry will begin to disinfect high-risk areas and public spaces beginning Monday (March 30), says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The Defence Minister said the initiative would also be done in People's Housing Project units to help curb the spread of Covid-19.

"This will also include government offices, with priority being given to public areas and then housing ," he said in a press conference on Saturday . He advised NGOs to send food supplies to the special centres under the Welfare Department in every district."Many NGOs have come forward to send help, and the government would like to thank them for their contributions to help the needy in such times.

"The Welfare Department's offices in the districts will be used as a place to collect these items before it is distributed to those in need in the areas," he said.
