He advised NGOs to send food supplies to the special centres under the Welfare Department in every district."Many NGOs have come forward to send help, and the government would like to thank them for their contributions to help the needy in such times.
"The Welfare Department's offices in the districts will be used as a place to collect these items before it is distributed to those in need in the areas," he said.
