PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia's Covid-19 death toll has reached 21,124 after the Health Ministry reported 413 more deaths on Monday (Sept 13).

According to the Health Ministry's CovidNow website, the average number of deaths daily over the past one week is 104.The government has changed its method of reporting Covid-19 deaths to better reflect the current pandemic situation in the country.

The CovidNow website will show the number of newly-reported deaths, including the backlog, as well as a separate figure which shows the actual number of deaths.This brings the total of BID cases in the country to 3,958.The number of active Covid-19 cases is 228,124, a reduction of 9,153 from the previous day.

Of the total number of active cases, 188,561 or 82.7% are patients with mild infections and are undergoing home quarantine.Some 12,910 are hospitalised, while another 1,301 are in intensive care units .Two states have ICUs operating at overcapacity – Kedah and Kelantan The Klang Valley's ICU usage rate is 84.2%.
