PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia’s Covid-19 infections continued to show a downward trend, with the country recording 1,555 new cases on Tuesday (March 2).

This the lowest daily figure recorded so far this year. Prior to this, the lowest daily figure reported in 2021 was 1,704 cases on Jan 4.

Tuesday’s active case total was 24,563, a sharp drop from the figures recorded in early February when it was as high as 52,000. “Out of Selangor’s total, 573 cases or 85.3% are those uncovered from clusters and contact tracing activities. Three of the fatalities were in Selangor, while Sabah, Kuala Lumpur and Perak reported one death each.
