Covid-19: Another million AstraZeneca vaccines to be available for opt-in registration

Khairy Jamaluddin, who is the coordinating minister for the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme, said an announcement would be made next week.''We will open the opt-in registration for people in Klang Valley and other states.

''People need not worry and we will make the announcement next week,'' he said after an ad-hoc visit to the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur vaccination centre here on Saturday . Khairy also pleaded with those without vaccination appointments not to come to any of the vaccination centres, as it would lead to congestion and compromise physical distancing.

''Many tend to come at the end of the day to try their luck, but this will result in a crowd and it's risky,'' he said. For those with appointments, Khairy has also told them not to come too early to wait because that, too, would create a crowd.Article type: metered
