Terdahulu, Menteri Kanan , Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, berkata kerajaan menetapkan etnik Rohingya itu akan dikuarantin di Pulau Langkawi. Dalam kejadian kira-kira jam 8.45 pagi itu, kumpulan PATI terdiri 152 lelaki, 45 wanita, empat kanak-kanak lelaki dan seorang perempuan ditahan pada kedudukan 1.2 batu nautika di Barat Daya pantai berkenaan.
Katanya, KKM bekerjasama rapat dengan Angkatan Tentera Malaysia dan isu memperkukuhkan sempadan turut dibawa dalam mesyuarat Majlis Keselamatan Negara minggu lalu.
