In his daily Covid-19 updates, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said those who died were aged between 54 and 97.“The death cases were reported in Selangor , Kuala Lumpur , Sarawak , Johor and Sabah .“The ministry extends its condolences to the family members, ” said Dr Noor Hisham.
The number of Covid-19 cases in Malaysia continued its ascending trend, with 2,148 new cases recorded. The last time the country's daily figure was above 2,000 was on March 5 when it registered 2,154 cases. In a Twitter post, Dr Noor Hisham said Sarawak has the highest number out of all states with 512 new cases, followed by Selangor with 459.Another 1,259 patients have been discharged from treatment, which means 349,039 people in the country have recovered from Covid-19.There are currently 212 patients under intensive care, with 82 requiring ventilator support.
