Court dismisses Khairuddin challenge to declaration of emergency

THE High Court in Kuala Lumpur today dismissed the application of former Jasin parliamentary co-ordinator Khairuddin Abu Hassan to refer four constitutional questions to the Federal Court regarding the declaration of emergency.

Khairuddin was challenging Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and the government over the prime minister’s decision to advise Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah to declare a state of emergency to contain the Covid-19 pandemic.
