IF police had conducted surveillance on those recently arrested over a defunct Tamil terrorist group’s alleged activities, there should be evidence to charge them in court instead of holding them under a detention law, the Malaysian Bar said today. Bar president Abdul Fareed Abdul Gafoor said those who have been arrested for alleged links to the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam need not be held under the provisions of the Security Offences Act .
