GEORGE TOWN (Bernama): The shooting incident involving a 26-year-old factory forklift truck driver in front of an apartment in Taman Inderawasih, Perai, near here early Sunday (Oct 6) morning is believed to have been about revenge and possible gang links.

Penang police chief Datuk T.Narenasagaran said on Monday that police did not rule out the possibility that the incident also stemmed from territorial issues between the victim and another group selling drugs.

"However, further investigations are still ongoing including getting more information from the victim to find out the true cause of the incident and the witnesses who saw the shooting," he told reporters here. He said police arrested two men aged 26 and 29 who were present at the scene during the incident to assist investigations.Narenasagaran said investigations found that the registration numbers of two vehicles, a Proton Waja and a Perodua Myvi, believed to be used by the suspects, were fake.
