BALIK PULAU: Twenty-nine suspected drug addicts were detained by police during a raid at a jetty in Teluk Kumbar here.

"During the raid, the suspects tried to escape. Some tried to flee in a fishing boat and others jumped into the sea," he said.Supt Kamarul said policemen from the Batu Uban marine police base helped to corner and arrest the suspects.Supt Kamarul said the suspects were taken to the Bayan Baru police station for further investigation and urine tests.
