KUALA LUMPUR: police are investigating a fight which allegedly took place at a morning market in Taman OUG here.

Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Amihizam Abdul Shukor, in a statement Saturday , said an investigation was launched after a video of the Jan 7 incident was posted on social media.

“Investigations showed that the victim, a 58-year-old man, was injured after he took photos of the suspect’s stall, which he claimed did not comply with conditions in the business licence. It is believed that the suspect exceeded the space allocated for his stall,” he said, adding that the suspect then attacked and kicked the victim.

A video of the incident shows a man launching a flying kick at a victim before chasing him down a row of stalls. Another suspect is seen throwing items at the victim before escaping. ACP Amihizam added that the police had summoned both suspects, a married couple, to obtain their statements. “They were called to give their statements and no arrests were made," he said, adding that they would be charged in a week.
