IPOH: Police here have arrested five men for gambling at premises near Beruas, Manjung on Wednesday (June 16) night.

Manjung OCPD Asst Comm Nor Omar Sappi said the men were caught by a movement control order compliance task force at around 11.30pm.

"During the raid, we also seized a piece of blank white paper, a wooden table, six red chairs, about 112 domino chips, 20 red chips, two dices and RM1,135 cash," he said. "Our initial investigation revealed that one of the suspects has a prior record involving drugs and other crimes," added ACP Nor Omar on Friday

ACP Nor Omar said the case is being investigated under Section 7 of the Common Gambling House Act 1953. "The police also issued a RM4,000 compound notice to each suspect aged between 32 and 67 for breaching the standard operating procedure," he added.
