Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak said the incident at the early hours of Jan 18 was brought to their attention after the victim contacted his wife, telling her that he was being held in Shah Alam and that the kidnappers demanded a ransom of RM5,000 for his release."The victim was rescued with injuries to his face."All the three suspects, aged between 26 and 40, have been remanded until Jan 22 to assist in investigations," he said.
"The foreign national failed to produce valid documents. Investigations are underway to track down other accomplices," he said.
