A nationwide protest by government contract doctors will go ahead as planned this Monday, said its organiser, despite Putrajaya making last-minute offers to appease them yesterday.

The group spearheading the Hartal Doktor Kontrak movement in a short statement this morning said the solutions offered by the government, as stated in Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin's statement yesterday, were only "half-cooked" and only intended to keep them quiet. I support and sympathize with the plight and any lawful actions of the Contract Doctors to negotiate for better terms and conditions of Employment. However, I feel that the Medical Practitioners have an important responsibility to serve the public esp during an emergency!
