PUTRAJAYA: More than 400 people have been arrested recently for not adhering to the movement control order (MCO), bringing the total number of those detained to 614, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The Defence Minister said while the compliance rate to the MCO has reached 97%, 320 people were arrested on Friday while 162 were detained on Thursday.

Among those detained on Friday were 116 people who took part in Friday prayers despite the directive clearly stating that such activity should not be done during the imposition of the MCO, he added. On Friday, the police and the Armed Forces conducted 1,046 roadblocks nationwide and checked 240,544 vehicles.
