KULAI: The closed-door meeting with the Barisan Nasional machinery here is not a sign that state polls are looming, says Johor Umno secretary Datuk Samsolbari Jamali.

“It has nothing to do with a state election as we are invited by Kulai Barisan to attend the seminar as part of their preparation to face the 15th General Election," he said.

Asked if elections could be called after the floods are over, the Johor Agriculture, Agro-Based and Rural Development Committee chairman said the matter has yet to be disclosed. Meanwhile, when approached at the meeting, Mentri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad only smiled and waved to journalists that were waiting for him before leaving the hotel.
