RIYADH: Ketua Eksekutif Uber, Dara Khosrowshahi berkata, pembunuhan wartawan Jamal Khashoggi tahun lalu oleh Arab Saudi, pelabur utama syarikatnya, tidak boleh dijadikan alasan dan beliau salah apabila menyifatkannya sebagai satu “kesilapan serius” .
“Ini satu kesilapan serius. Kami juga melakukan kesilapan, dengan pandu kendiri, dan kami berhenti daripada memandu dan kami sedang pulih daripada kesilapan itu,” kata Khosrowshahi dalam temu bual itu. Khosrowshahi kemudian berkata di Twitter: “Tidak ada yang memaafkan atau melupakan apa yang berlaku kepada Jamal Khashoggi dan saya salah menyebutnya sebagai satu ‘kesilapan’.”
Pembunuhan Jamal mencetuskan keprihatinan global, menjejaskan imej Putera Mahkota Saudi Mohammed bin Salman.
