KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Umno will field candidates in all seats it contested in the 14th General Election during the next polls, says its state chief Datuk Bung Moktar Radin.
These seats belonged to Umno to begin with, even though elected representatives who won might have left or joined other parties, he said.He confirmed this when contacted following his tweet on Friday, where he said Sabah Umno would contest all the parliamentary seats from GE14 as well as several others they were currently considering.Bung Moktar’s tweet followed a statement from Mersing MP Datuk Dr Abdul Latiff Ahmad, who recently claimed that Sabah Umno was no longer popular.
Dr Abdul Latiff, who is among former Umno leaders who joined Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia after GE14, later apologised for the statement.Article type: free
