Another nine ministers will be winding up their 2021 budget replies in the Dewan Rakyat today.
KUALA LUMPUR: The Dewan Rakyat sitting will be extended today until all the ministers have wound up their debate on the Supply Bill 2021, de facto law minister Takiyuddin Hassan said.“The Dewan Rakyat will end after all ministries have replied at the policy stage,” he said.Traditionally, the budget vote will take place after the policy stage to determine if it has the majority support of the MPs.
The sitting was extended by one hour yesterday until 3pm to allow more ministers to reply to the questions posed by MPs on budget allocations. The budget is the first by the Perikatan Nasional government led by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin since taking over power in March. It is allocating RM322.5 billion for next year’s national expenditure.
