KUALA LUMPUR: The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry is pushing for a 30% increment in Budget 2023.

Its minister Datuk Seri Rina Harun said the ministry had repeatedly strived for the increment in the past and added that now is the right time for them to be given the allocation.

"In the economic recovery phase of 2023, we are hoping for allocations not only for my ministry but also all the ministries as well because there are many who are involved in issues pertaining to women. "There are many areas for us to ensure the empowerment, leadership, health and socio-economic status of women continue to be addressed and improved," Rina told reporters after the soft launch of the World Women Leadership Summit 2023, here on Tuesday .

She also said through the budget allocation, the ministry plans to continue with the Wanita Bangkit programme, among which the WWLS was included. She added the implementation of Anti-Sexual Harassment Act 2021 would also require the funds to ensure it is enforced properly.
