Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Noor Dellhan Yahaya said that the incident occurred along Jalan Loke Yew on Sunday .
“When the police arrived at the scene at 5.49pm, the victim had been brought to the hospital by his family. “The individual involved was found hiding at one of the nearby flats and he was successful detained. The suspect is in his 80s and while the motive is still under investigation it is known that he has a history of psychiatric treatment,” he said.“Investigations showed that the suspect is the victim's neighbour,” he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt using dangerous weapons that could cause death.
