Pengarah Zon Maritim Mersing, Komander Maritim, Haris Fadzillah Abdullah berkata, bot nelayan itu ditahan kerana melanggar syarat lesen pada pukul 12.30 tengah hari.
“Bot nelayan itu dikesan pada kedudukan 2.3 batu nautika timur laut Tanjung Kempit oleh bot peronda Penggalang 43 yang sedang melakukan rondaan Ops Jaksa 2019. “Semua mereka dibawa ke Jeti Maritim Malaysia Pos Tanjung Gemok bagi siasatan lanjut,” katanya dalam kenyataan di sini hari ini. Tambahnya, kesemua kru ditahan dan akan disiasat mengikut Seksyen 8 Akta Perikanan 1985 atas kesalahan melanggar syarat lesen dan jika disabit kesalahan, suspek boleh dikenakan kompaun selain lesen ditarik.
Tambah Haris Fadzillah, pihaknya menyeru orang ramai untuk melaporkan sebarang salah laku yang dikesan mereka kepada pihak Maritim Malaysia. - UTUSAN ONLINE
