Ketua Balai Bomba dan Penyelamat Bagan Jermal, Mohd Ridzuan Ramli berkata, pihaknya menerima panggilan kecemasan berhubung kejadian pada 11.50 pagi.
Katanya, seramai 17 anggota dari BBP Bagan Jermal dikejarkan ke tempat kejadian sejurus menerima panggilan. "Ketika tiba di lokasi, didapati kebakaran berlaku di unit rumah tingkat 10 pangsapuri berkenaan dan api marak menyebabkan kemusnahan sehingga 30 peratus. "Anggota bomba turut berjaya menyelamatkan 15 ekor kucing yang dipercayai kepunyaan pemilik rumah berkenaan," katanya.
