KOTA KINABALU: The body of a newborn baby was found floating in the Kg Tanjung Aru Lama water village near here, Saturday (June 10).

Kota Kinabalu acting OCPD Supt Kalsom Idris said villagers saw the body floating while walking by the bridge.

“We sent a team to respond and suspect that the baby might have been dumped into the sea after birth,” she said. She said the baby whose gender has yet to be identified, has been sent to the hospital for post-mortem.She said this case is being investigated under Section 318 of the Penal Code for concealing a birth and causing the death of a child.to our Premium Plan for an ad-free and unlimited reading experience!
