Urumqi: Over 350 police officers of the Xinjiang Division of the Chinese People’s Armed Police voluntarily donated blood as supplies fell in Urumqi, capital of the Xinjiang Uyghur autonomous region.

The Covid-19 outbreak that keeps many people from going outside has strained local supplies in Urumqi, said the regional Blood Centre.“

In response, the Xinjiang Division took the lead and organised donations. After undergoing medical check-ups, over 350 police officers in good health donated more than 70 litres of blood.
