The BAM deemed these requests as “impossible to fulfil” and eventually turned him down.“Since he handed his resignation letter (on Jan 11), many concerted efforts were made by us through several informal discussions with Zii Jia to reconsider his decision.

“However, it was not successful,” said BAM deputy president II Datuk Seri Jahaberdeen Mohd Yunoos, who’s also the chairman for the legal advisory committee.“Zii Jia stood by his decision and he gave the following reasons.“Firstly, he said that he cannot stand the pressure in the national squad, and that the lifestyle in the Academy Badminton Malaysia is regimented and he found it very difficult.

leezj is selfish, greedy and ungrateful. BAM and national team groomed him to what he is today. now he wants to keep all money for himself and not contribute towards development of future gen. All these dato and tan Sri need to step down. Let professionals run it. Do these 3 'unrealistic' request warrant a 3 year ban? Be realistic la BAM!

Taxpayers money dei How many of the 'officials' in BAM are world class players? Have they been through the training and programs the players endure? The requests were realistic for real and professional players! Nak byk perks dan own team of coach. Sy cadangkan LZJ join JDT It's realistic request and and furthermore he wants to make this nation proud by remaining in the international tournament. What's itching you.. BAM!

Lets now hear Lee’s version of the story. BAM, you made right decision. Dont be held ransom by a prima donna, who by the way is not even a high achiever. obviously BAM want some piece of the sponsorship money and player day NO. 🙅🏻‍♂️ BAM has said their piece, and now we want to hear from Lee. Speak up Lee, for you owe the public an explanation. To begin with, we don't quite understand why after having been trained under BAM since your early teen, why are you now complaining about the training?

While BAM vents at Zii Jia's exit, world No 1 shuttler shows supportViktor Axelson points out it's for Lee to decide his own life and career.

No point keeping a guy who turned arrogant, disloyal and can't take pressure for success. Move on BAM, there are many more waiting to be groomed. No need to explain.... BAM officials are hopeless... There're no more future in our country when comes to SPORTS. Its time to let the officials and ministers to represent our country...they're all paid handsomely anyway. Just look at our athletes...they're paid like beggars.

Otherwise how to own Lambo, Ferrari, Bentley, Range Rover, GTR just holding a badminton racket ? It's not unrealistic is one is genuine in finding a win-win solution what a shame .. just due the 3 and you throw him away..d gomen can waste monies on unethical spending, lost monies to inefficiency, suspected payout for project involving cronies. rasuah rasuah rasuah .. now gomen will deprive the nation from a potential world class & champion

Obvious d requests were excessive but can't blame him since there was a precedent. BA_Malaysia wud do good 2 jz dmand he pays compensation, even if it amounts 2 millions n surely not suspend him for 2 yrs. BAM dah byk melabur...tapi klu digantung selama 2 tahun...ni seolah2 membunuh karier pemain ni.....keputusan dah dibuat..menteri berkenaan baru bukak mulut....nak jumpala....bincangla...segala2nya lambat...KPI tahi lembu

Better financial! duit je reti offer. Concern, mental/physical health interest mane? 😤 Good BAM..proceed As taxpayers and stakeholders who give money to BAM we should demand BAM officials to be suspended for 2 years instead and not allowed to work in any government agencies for that 2 years also. We should have a say since the money came from us anyway.

'BAM yang bermasalah, bukan pemain' - Roslin | Harian MetroKuala Lumpur: Bekas pemain nombor satu dunia, Roslin Hashim berasakan ada kepincangan dalam pengurusan Persatuan Badminton Malaysia (BAM) yang dilihat menjadi penyebab kepada pemain perseorangan lelaki negara, Lee Zii Jia mengambil keputusan meninggalkan badan induk itu. Terbalik tu 🤣🤣 Ha sudah. Mana satu betul ni. Aduhai. Datuk LCW sampai bersara kt BAM. Xde mslh pn.. Org yg pernah keluar BAM memang akan komen BAM yg salah utk letskkn kesalahan kt org lain.

The requests are realistic, reasonable and resonates with that of other top world badminton players. BAM should repent and repeal the draconian treatment against its players.

Rashid Sidek says Zii Jia leaving BAM at the wrong time | New Straits TimesNSTsports RashidSidek said shuttler LeeZiiJia shouldn't have quit the national team so soon. BAM Badminton Rashid is right. Lee's decision is both hasty and shows immaturity. Maybe he believes he has arrived, but as far as his track record is concerned, his resume is quite empty. Getting to the top 10 is easier than staying in the top 10. That is where he is yet to prove his mettle.

Exelsen supports Zii Jia’s decision to quit BAMKUALA LUMPUR: The 2020 Tokyo Olympic gold medallist and world number one shuttler, Viktor Axelsen has expressed his support for national men’s singles...

Don’t give face, BAMPETALING JAYA: Lee Zii Jia deserves to be penalised. One-sided again? As taxpayers and stakeholders who give money to BAM we should demand BAM officials to be suspended for 2 years instead. We should have a say since the money came from us anyway. Awak dulu semuanya kes hampir2 saja. Selalu menghampakan sokongan rakyat Malaysia. Always anti-climax. Patutnya awak suport atlit bukannya penganiaya atlit sekarang ni.

BAM suspends Zii Jia for 2 years for turning pro | The Malaysian InsightAll England champion will not be allowed to compete in any international tournament during this period.

These were the three “unrealistic” requests made by world No. 7 Lee Zii Jia that Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) could not meet and which eventually led to his decision to quit the national team. The BAM deemed these requests as “impossible to fulfil” and eventually turned him down. “Since he handed his resignation letter (on Jan 11), many concerted efforts were made by us through several informal discussions with Zii Jia to reconsider his decision. “However, it was not successful,” said BAM deputy president II Datuk Seri Jahaberdeen Mohd Yunoos, who’s also the chairman for the legal advisory committee. “Zii Jia stood by his decision and he gave the following reasons. “Firstly, he said that he cannot stand the pressure in the national squad, and that the lifestyle in the Academy Badminton Malaysia is regimented and he found it very difficult. “Zii Jia then submitted fresh terms to continue his career with the BAM, but following a thorough deliberation, BAM have reached a decision to reject those terms. “Under his terms, he wanted to have his own team of coaches and support service, to plan his own tournaments and to have his own sponsors. “Obviously we found these requirements impossible to fulfil and unrealistic.” Jahaberdeen added that the national body did relentlessly continue to persuade Zii Jia to stay on by counter-offering him with better financial perks, but those efforts proved futile. “In recognition of his talent and also the fact that Zii Jia has been nurtured by BAM since he was 13 years old, BAM still offered him several lucrative, substantial incentives and good monetary benefits. “However, Zii Jia has already made up his mind and did not want to reconsider his decision.” Article type: metered
