, Malaysians under the B40 group will be able to enjoy petrol subsidies for RON95 petrol. These subsidies are targeted at Malaysians that fall under the Bantuan Sara Hidup scheme.
The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs has introduced a Petrol Subsidy Programme which is available since yesterday. This allows you to check if you qualify to receive the targetted petrol subsidies.At the time of writing, it appears that the Petrol Subsidy Programme site is down, probably due to heavy traffic.
According to the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution, the website uses BSH recipients’ basic data obtained from the Finance Ministry and cross-checked with vehicle ownership data from the Road Transport Department . Based on their information, there are 2.9 million Malaysians that qualify for the subsidy.
The Minister added there are still improvements needed on the data and he appeals to people under the B40 category to check their status online. Vehicle owners that are qualified for BSH but have yet toBSH recipients that have recently bought a vehicle are also urged to make a fresh application in the PSP portal. If you can’t find your details, you can file an appeal with your updated vehicle details and home address.
