HONG KONG: Residents all over Asia particularly in China and Hong Kong are becoming more aware of the increasing waste problem in the world.

Daisy Tam Dic-sze, an academic in Hong Kong, has decided to develop a crowdsourcing application last year to help solve one of the city’s biggest problems – food waste.

By using the Breadline app, Tam said people in Hong Kong are doing their part to reduce waste and move toward a zero-waste lifestyle. “Being zero-waste is not the same as being litter-free, ” Dharmesh Shah, policy consultant for the Global Alliance for Incinerator Alternatives , said in a interview.
