TELECOMMUNICATIONS companies have been fined RM3.83 million in the first seven months of this year, more than the total amount of compounds issued for the whole of last year, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission said today. A total of 107 compounds were issued to telcos as of July 31 for various offences, such as non-compliance with the Guidelines on Registration of End Users of Prepaid Public Cellular Services, General Consumer Code and Mandatory Standards, MCMC said.
