The Third Malaysian Infantry Division headquarters said in a statement that its observation post spotted a boat approaching the coastal area near Ladang Kurnia at around 1am on Monday morning.
“Based on this information, a team was sent to the location to track the suspects... half an hour later, we found 14 suspects hiding in the area.“We detained five men and nine women aged between 18 and 48 years, all Indonesian nationals, for entering the country through an uncharted route,” it said. The statement added that RM6,984 in Indonesian currency, 12 mobile phones and jewellery were also seized.
The suspects have been sent to the Tanjung Sepang tactical headquarters here for Covid-19 screening before they will be handed over to the Immigration Department for further action.
