PETALING JAYA: Barisan Nasional wants to contest in all its"traditional seats" which the coalition won in the previous general election and subsequent by-elections.tweeted on Thursday that Barisan intended to field candidates to"defend all its traditional seats" amid talk of a possible snap election.
His statement comes after Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Ibrahim said in a recent Facebook post that the Mersing seat"belonged" to Umno, although it is currently held by Datuk Abdul Latiff Ahamd from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia. Abdul Latiff, who is Rural Development Minister, was formerly with Umno but left the party to join Bersatu after GE14.
