Amid Covid-19, MOH says let’s consider Ramadan bazaars online, or drive-thrus

Wednesday, 01 Apr 2020 06:16 PM MYTHealth Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah speaks during a press conference in Putrajaya April 1, 2020. — Picture by Shafwan Zaidon

He said these could be alternatives to having the usual bazaar as they cannot predict if the spread of Covid-19 will dissipate enough to allow people to resume their normal lives by next month. “For example maybe we can have an e-bazaars or an online bazaar or a drive-thru bazaar so that we can avoid many people congregating in one place,” Dr Noor Hisham said during his daily Covid-19 briefing in Putrajaya.

Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa also has said that his ministry is still in discussion with various stakeholders and MOH on the possibility of having the bazaar in the territories.

People are dying all over, the world is under lockdown and in a mess and this is what the Ministry of Health decides is most important right now? Who’s running this country? Idiots?

👍🏻

Agree

Why cannot cook at home? Alternatively I think drive throughs may be an idea

Our govt just cannot get their messaging straight! Stay Home means don't go out if you can...then now encourage drive thru bazaar means you r encouraging folks to drive out for the bazaar? What's skipping 1 year of bazaar? Trying to please some n end up harming the entire country

agree

Even the Olympic have been postponed, what’s the problem of postponing Ramadan bazaar for one year ?

Agree. Let’s be creative. Design a localised digital platform that can service a small area *maybe* for a start.

DGHisham we can do without please. Health before gluttony!
