PUTRAJAYA: The special programme aimed to provide skills training to the B40 group with a budget of RM258mil was poorly managed, with the programme being attended by only one-third of the targeted participants, according to the Auditor-General's Report 2018 (Series 3).

The report said among the weaknesses of this programme was that only 11 out of the 22 pieces of training provided were suitable with the objective of this programme.

“There was also transfer of funds without approval and expenditure that was not permitted, amounting to RM377,000, ” said the report. The audit on this programme involved the Economic Planning Unit as the main coordinator of the programme, three coordinating agencies, namely Skills Development Fund Corporation , Unit Peneraju Agenda Bumiputra , the Youth and Sports Ministry as well as six implementing agencies.
