Like Dr Evil's rotating chair, but less scary and more fun.

LOS ANGELES: With quirky features like a joystick in the cockpit, a swivelling driver's chair and a chaise longue that sweeps around the rear, Hyundai's plans for the next electric model in its Ioniq range are far-fetched to say the least.

The manufacturer puts range at around 600km, although Hyundai is hopeful that advances in battery technology may even enable an operating range of over 1,000km by the time it is launched. In anticipation of self-driving cars, the driver's seat swivels around, there's a kind of ottoman for the front passenger and instead of rear seats there is a wrap-around chaise longue.

And because developers imagine the Seven will drive largely or even fully autonomously, the controls are also unconventional.
