Anwar wants PKR youth congress troublemakers sacked

PKR president Anwar Ibrahim wants action taken against the perpetrators of two violent incidents that marred the party’s youth congress in Malacca today.

In a terse statement, Anwar said the violence could not go unpunished.

“Such antics will not be tolerated and cannot pass without stern action.

“As such, I have instructed the party’s disciplinary board to take action and sack those responsible for the fracas today.”

The 72-year-old also hoped the police will investigate the matter and take the appropriate action.

The PKR youth congress was hit by two incidents where youths, claiming to be delegates, tried to force their way into the meeting.

When they were stopped, the crowd of youths sporting black T-shirts turned unruly, and tried to storm the venue, resulting in clashes with security personnel and attendees.

Police also had to step in to break up the fights. – December 6, 2019.
