31 males and nine females were arrested while they were hiding in a rubber plantation according to Thai news media.
They are from Yangon, Rakhine, Chin and Taninthayi Region. They had to give agent fees of baht 60,000 each. They confessed that they entered Thailand illegally via Kawthaung using water route. They were transported by three vehicles to southern Thailand and three Thai drivers were also arrested. On April 5, another 35 Myanmar citizens were arrested according to the statement made by Thai authority.
In the past, those illegally entered Thailand were detained in Thai-Myanmar border areas but now they were detained when they reached Thailand, sources said. - Eleven Media Group/ANN
